Look for the engagement of the abdominal muscles when you breathe and sing during this vinyasa. Once the voice is free, you can later refine it with Bel Canto singing techniques. Bring that information to a Vocal Yoga class and the teacher can ascertain what muscle group is hindering your voice. Once again, notice where your voice is free and what posture it feels trapped in. Let the sound of the voice flow out freely in whatever primal way it chooses. Pushing will only cause tension in the throat and result in a tighter, squeezed sound.
